Ma vi rendete conto che solo dopo 21 anni di matrimonio ho scoperto che gli Spargo erano olandesi (si, hanno persino la voce Wikipedia in italiano, e non, per dire, in inglese, vorrà dire qualcosa)? Chi come me è stato adolescente negli anni ’80 sarà si cresciuto con The Day After, Chernobyl, il buco nell’ozono che ci avrebbe fritti tutti e un sacco di roba apocalittica che andava curata a botte di Naj-Oleari, capelli cotonati e spalline da supereroe nel tailleur, ma non può essere che non abbia mai sentito You and me degli Spargo. Che in fondo il funk-disco-pop, per chi non si suicidava ascoltando i Cure e gli Smiths, era pure un rimedio all’ angoscia esistenziale del futuro post-atomico.
In nome quindi degli adolescenti che siamo stati (e tutto sommato mi sembra che siamo anche venuti su bene, no?) vi lascio il testo di You and me con accanto la traduzione in olandese, in modo che potete farvi un ripassino come si deve delle basi, visto che il 26 settembre riparte il corso di olandese per italiani. E se volete saperne di più di cultura popolare batava, leggetevi anche la voce Wikipedia in olandese, che nomina tanti personaggi della musica locale che potreste voler conoscere, anche se non in base al gusto musicale, almeno a livello di conversazione e cultura popolare. Che l’integrazione passa anche per quella.
